backstage beauty: viktor & rolf fall 2013

Angelic hair braids aren't exactly new. But it's a hairstyle which is eternally pretty. I always envy girls who wear them. Also, it's actually one of my life aims to perfect a fishtail plait (I aim high I know). The soft, unkempt version at Viktor and Rolf was paired beautifully with barely-there-makeup and a hint of blusher. Positively whimsical.

I love looking at backstage photos at fashion week. Although I love the performance and theatre of runway, it's about the clothes not the models. Backstage, photographers single out the few moments before the show, and perhaps models are caught off guard when they, on occasion, break out into smile. Like proper big smiles. While they might actually be cursing life and fed up of the monotonous and exhausting reality of being a model during fashion week, there may be a slim chance that they're actually loving life and the awesome clothes they are wearing.
